Kalambaka atau Kalabaka, sama jek. MEteora adalah tempat utama di sini. Ke sini November 2014. Kami beli tiket sehari awal sebelum pegi. Beli kat Larissa Railway Station, nak ke sini stop kat Larissa Metro Station. Just keluar je dari metro, jalan ke belakang akan nampak Railway station ni. Dekat sangat.
REad what is Meteora all about;
- MEteora means "middle of the sky", "suspended in the air" or "in the heavens above" — etymologically related to "Meteorite" is one of the largest and most important complexes of Greek Orthodox monasteries in Greece.
- The six monasteries are built on natural sandstone rock pillars, at the northwestern edge of the Plain of Thessaly near the Pineios river and Pindus Mountains, in central Greece.
- The Metéora is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Kami beli return tiket.
- Depart 8.27am from Larissa, arrive 1.30pm in Kalambaka.
- Balik esok nye, depart 5.32pm from Kalambaka, arrive 10.30pm in Larissa. Total cost: 29 Euro.
Perjalanan agak membosankan. Satu time sejuk ni, cermin berwap. So tak nampak apa la kat luar tu. Even pemandangan cantik. Sayang, tk dapat tangkap gambar je lah. So aku tido jek la. Pastikan beli siap2 apa nk di makan dan minum. Lapau. Lama gak dlm train.
Sampai jek, kami pergi ke kaunter untuk tukar tiket balik coz tiket kami open date. Berderau jantung, staf train kata esok train tutup. Bukan kat situ jek, tapi seluruh Greece !! Naya beb. Dah la flight ke Prague lusa pagi. Mana sempat. Strike kata nye. Mogok oleh staf sebab tak puas hati la kot apa2 dgn government. Nasib baek ada train ptg tu jugak kami balik Athens.
Kalau ikutkan ada bas naek ke atas Meteora. Tengok yang from Kalampaka to Meteora. Tapi tak beroperasi coz Nov dah mula sejuk. Kalau summer, ada lah bas tu. Makanye kami naek taxi. Chartered taxi la, nyahh. Satu jam 20 Euro. Kami amik 2 jam so 40 Euro la satu taxi. Sempatlah coz sampai pun 1.30pm. Train balik 5.32pm.
Ni lah dia Kalabaka Railway Station. Kat sini sejuk kooo. Bagi aku, sejuks lah. 1 ke -1 celcius.
Ni timetable Monestries kat Meteora. Timing asal kami memang cantik dah la coz nak masuk sangat Great MEteora tu. Tapi dah ada perubahan, tengok kat luar pun jadi lah. coz hari ni Rabu tutup.
Jom tengok monestries kat sini;
1) Agios Nikolaous
Driver kami nama Nikolas. Kena sangat dengan nama first monestry yg nak pi ni. Hihiii.
Kami memang tak leh lama2, maklumlah 2 jam je koo. Kena lah hike sket ke atas.
Autumn nak masuk ke winter.
Meh baca pasal monestry ni;
- The Holy Monastery of St. Nicholas Anapausas, built in the 16th century, has a small church, decorated by the noted Cretan painter Theophanis Strelitzas, in 1527.
Yang best pasal Meteora bg aku adalah formation rocks tu. N ofcoz la pemandangan kat sini.
Sebenarnya nak tengok monestry Nikolaous ni kena naek tangga. Tapi nak menapak ke atas tuh, macam semput pulak. Hahaa. So kat bawah jek lah.
Berkabus kat sini.
Posing la, apa lagi. Cantik background belakang tu. Tapi kabus la. Kalau tak, lagi terang.
2) Agios Varlaam
Bagi aku banyak2 monestry, ni adalah yang tercantik.
Formation of rocks is too awesome.
Daun2 kekuningan. Adehh, cantik.
MEh baca pasal Varlaam;
- The Holy Monastery of Varlaam is the second largest monastery in the Metéora complex. It was built in 1541 and embellished in 1548. A church, dedicated to All Saints, is in the Athonite type (cross-in-square with dome and choirs), with spacious exonarthex (lite) is surrounded by a dome. It was built in 1541/42 and decorated in 1548, while the exonarthex was decorated in 1566. The old refectory is used as a museum while north of the church is the parekklesion of the Three Bishops, built in 1627 and decorated in 1637.
Pintu masuk ke monestry.
Tu monestry nye.
Nak naek ke atas, kena lalu lah jambatan ni.
Tangga untuk ke atas. Ehh ofcoz lah kan. Hihii.
Suka la kat sini.
Tak naek pun kat atas. Hahaaa. Coz dah nak tutup daa.
Posing la, khen.
Varlaam dari jauh.
Varlaam sayup2.
3) Great Meteora
Monestry paling terbesar kat sini.
Meh baca pasal yang ni;
- This is the largest of the monasteries located at Metéora. It was erected in the mid-14th century and was the subject of restoration and embellishment projects in 1483 and 1552. The building serves as the main museum for tourists. The Katholikon (main church), consecrated in honour of the Transfiguration of Jesus was erected in the middle of 14th century and 1387/88 and decorated in 1483 and 1552.
Even sejuk giler, masih lagi mampu tersenyum. Gitueww.
Dah mula blur, kan. Coz kabus le.
entrance nak ke Great MEteora.
Tuu dia, kejapan je kabus.
4) Monastery of the Holy Trinity
Atau dikenali sebagai Agios Trias.
Ni kalau dari jauh. Sayup2.
Apa yang menarik tentang Trias ni, filming location in the 1981 James Bond movie For Your Eyes Only. Kalau korang tengok movie trailer, steep hill tu yang jadi attraction dalam movie tu. Cer tengok kat utube. Hahaaa.
Dari jauh.
Posing jap.
5) Monastery of St. Stephen
Atau dikenali jugak sebagai Stephanos. Time ni tak sempat nak masuk ke perkarangan monastery coz dah cukup 2 jam. siap driver kata klw 15 minit kena tambah duit. Puiii la. Sikit2 duit. Hahaaa. So kitaorg balik ke pekan.
Meh baca pasal Stephanos monestry;
- The Holy Monastery of St. Stephen has a small church built in the 16th century and decorated in 1545. This monastery rests on the plain rather than on a cliff. It was shelled by the Nazis during World War II who believed it was harboring insurgents and was abandoned. Nuns took it over and reconstructed it.
Stephanos dari tepi.
Pemandangan menarik kat Sini;
Kalau takde kabus, boleh nampak pekan Kalambaka.
One of my fav pic. Geram je.
Kenangan2.
Pekan Kalambaka;
Sebab ada banyak masa lagi so kitaorang jalan2 dekat pekan diaorg. Sejuk jangan cakap la. Nasib baek jacket tebai. Tangan jek la. Kebas kejung even pakai glove. Tu taxi kami, pakcik Nikolas tengah bersihkan taxi dia.
Dikelilingi batu2 kat sini.
Kedai2 banyak tutup.
Perbelanjaan Di Kalambaka;
1) Tiket train; Larissa-Kalambaka-Larissa : 29 Euro/person
2) Hired taxi for 2 hours : 40 Euro/taxi
Sekian la sudah di Greece. Kami balik ke Athens, sebelum lusa ke PRague, pulak. Hoyeah.
